Building Community and Leadership through Dance + the Arts
Established in 2015, the Open Arts Performance Company is designed to maximized the individual's dance and performance training through intensive study, performance opportunities, and community service opportunities.
Open Arts Performance Company members are expected to take multiple dance technique classes each week, attend company repertory rehearsals, participate in additional performance opportunities, plan and support community service endeavors, and bring dance, music, art, theater, and yoga to those who many not otherwise get to experience them.
Company members will develop skills that not only ensure they reach their highest potential as dancers and performers but also the character and leadership skills necessary to be successful in school, life, and any professional career they may choose to pursue.
Open Arts students who will be 10 or older by September 1st are welcome to audition for the Open Arts Performance Company.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 2-3pm at the studio. Students should arrive at the audition in tights and leotard with hair in a bun - NO EXCEPTIONS. Bring your ballet or jazz shoes or dance in bare feet.
2017-2018 Company Members will be required to attend at least one 4-week summer dance class or week-long dance camp this summer, and must be enrolled in at least TWO dance technique classes - one of which must be ballet. If you have any questions about auditions or would like to discuss the requirements further, please let Ms. Maia know or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
